Setting Up Opera Mini In MyPhone T23 Duo

My wife hand me over this MyPhone T23 Duo. It is slightly used, by her. We bought it about three months ago. She ditched it because her co-workers were able to convinced her to get a Globe postpaid plan with a free Samsung Galaxy Y. Ouch! An additional monthly expenditure of 600 pesos.

The MyPhone T23 Duo has a wifi feature. The name “marvin gwapito” on screen is the wireless SSID of our home internet.

The default internet browser sucks. I thought the Opera browser would do a better job. Maybe it would if I can get it working. I played with it for about a month with no success. I did a heck of googling job but still got no success. I got it working by accident.

Take note that I am talking about Opera browsing through wifi connection.

Opera for MyPhone T23 Duo is a java application. Setting the phone default connection to wifi will not do the trick. MyPhone java setting has its own independent settings.

Here:

1)Open the main menu

selecting java menu

2)Tap Pinoy

selecting pinoy menu3)Tap myjava

selecting java menu4)Tap java settings

selecting java settings5)Scroll down. Tap java network and choose wifi.

setting java network as wifi6)Open Opera and start browsing.

Browsing with Opera mini is really better but it cannot handle video streaming. The dialogue “out of memory” always appear. Then the video streaming will be done by the default and crappy browser.
